The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust, in partnership with the University of Liverpool and Everton in the Community, is excited to announce the Aortic Futures Careers Day!
This event is designed to promote diversity in biomedical sciences by inspiring underrepresented communities to explore careers in medical research. We are inviting schools in Liverpool to bring their students interested in science aged between 14 – 16 years old to attend this unique and informative event.
Aortic Futures Careers Day is an excellent opportunity for young students to learn about scientific research, explore different medical research careers, and consider going to university. The event is targeted at low-income households and BAME communities in Liverpool, school ages (14-16yr) who would be the first in their family to ever go to uni.
The sessions will have a mix of stands, mini practical workshops, career advice, and opportunities to meet the scientists and surgeons. The researchers and surgeons present at the event will all be from a diverse range of backgrounds and will be more than happy to talk about why they decided to follow a career in science.
We will also have special guests who can talk about aortic dissection and their experiences.
Importantly, Aortic Futures Careers Day is an event with a purpose. Aortic dissection is a life-threatening condition that requires urgent medical attention, and our researchers and surgeons are working tirelessly to advance our knowledge of this condition and improve patient outcomes.
By attending this event, students will be able to learn about the critical research work that we do and understand how they can contribute to improving health outcomes in their communities and beyond.
We encourage schools to book their slots at Aortic Futures Careers Day and help us inspire the next generation of medical researchers. This event is an opportunity for young students to explore the world of biomedical research, connect with experienced professionals, and gain valuable insights into the many career opportunities available in this exciting field.
