This resource has been created in collaboration with the PCCS to supplement the Aortic Dissection Filed Handbook for Primary Care. Treatment, lifestyle and exercise, genetic testing, and treating the entire family are all covered in this resource, with an introduction by Pauline Latham MP OBE. Patient interviews address the majority of the usual issues and concerns raised by patients and their families.

Dr Bejal Pandya

Clinical Director of Specialised Cardiology

Dr. Pandya specialises in adult congenital heart diseases, as well as aortopathy disease and pulmonary hypertension associated with heart disease. She has considerable experience with cardiac catheteriaation, pulmonary vascular resistance tests, and sophisticated echocardiography such as bubble contrast echocardiography and transoesophageal echocardiography.

Dr. McKay is a Consultant in Cardiovascular Clinical Genetics and a member of The Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital and Liverpool Women’s Hospital’s Inherited Cardiovascular Conditions team. She is interested in diagnosing and counselling patients and families who have or are at risk of all forms of Inherited Cardiovascular Conditions related to thoracic aortic aneurysms, dissections, and aortopathies, such as Marfan and Loeys-Dietz.
