Dr Stephen Shepherd
Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine
Dr Stephen Shepherd is a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthesia working at Barts Health. He has undertaken both cardiac and vascular anaesthesia, including a high volume of aortic work, and is an ECMO specialist in one of the biggest cardiac arrest centres in the country. He has an interest in critical care echocardiography, post-resuscitation care (co-authoring the recent update to Resuscitation Council guidelines on this lattermost topic) and complex airway work, leading the St. Bartholomew’s tracheostomy team and providing anaesthesia for central airway obstruction.
