We are delighted to announce that #TeamAorta will once again take part in the Great North Run 2025, one of the world’s most renowned half marathons. This year’s event will take place on Sunday, 7th September 2025, in Newcastle upon Tyne.
As the UK and Ireland’s dedicated charity for aortic dissection, we know how vital it is to raise awareness and fund critical research into this life-threatening condition. The Great North Run is not just an opportunity to push physical limits—it is a chance to make a tangible impact on the future of aortic dissection diagnosis, treatment, and survival.
Runners will take on the 13.1-mile course, experiencing the thrill of crossing the iconic Tyne Bridge and finishing at the stunning South Shields coastline. This incredible event welcomes participants of all abilities, from seasoned athletes to first-time half-marathon runners, all coming together to support meaningful causes.
