Inspiring the Next Generation of Scientists

 

We are thrilled to present My Aorta, My Future, an engaging event designed to ignite the passion for science among underrepresented students and encourage them to explore careers in biomedical research.

This initiative, organised by the University of Liverpool and the Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust in collaboration with community groups and the charitable arms of various football clubs, provides an invaluable experience for students aged 14 to 16.

About the Event

 

My Aorta, My Future aims to inspire students from low-income households and BAME communities who would be the first in their families to attend university. This free event is tailored to offer insights into the world of biomedical research, showcasing the numerous exciting career opportunities available in this field.

My Aorta, My Future 2023

Our 2023 event at Goodison Park, in collaboration with Everton in the Community, was a resounding success. It brought together over 150 students from diverse backgrounds to explore the world of biomedical research. The event featured interactive workshops, engaging talks from leading researchers, and inspiring stories from individuals affected by aortic dissection. Students left with newfound knowledge and a sparked interest in pursuing careers in science and medicine.

The 2024 edition of My Aorta, My Future, held at Goodison Park with Everton in the Community, promised to be even more exciting and enriching.
