Run for aortic dissection research
The London Landmarks Half Marathon is a fantastic event on a flat, closed roads route. The 13.1 miles along London’s iconic landmarks is the only half marathon to go through both the City of London and the City of Westminster, with excellent support on every stride.
Team Aorta will be running to raise funds for aortic dissection research with the total sponsorship going directly to The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust 2023 research grant fund. This funding provides support to projects with the overall aim of improving the clinical care of patients, to save lives and improve the quality of life for those suffering from aortic dissection.
The run takes place on Sunday 2nd April 2023 with a start at Pall Mall and finish at Downing Steet, both by St James’s Park. There is a registration fee of £25 and a minimum of £350 in sponsorship for a charity place or if you have a ballot entry then join the team by creating a JustGiving aortic dissection page.
When you take those last few steps across the finish line, you’ll have achieved more than just your running goal, you’ll be helping us to reach our research aims: to improve the life of patients with aortic dissection.
Help us to save lives by funding advances in aortic dissection patient care through research
I lost my cousin at 55 through this and I believe something could have been done to prevent her death.
My brother died of this, the hospital he was in THE DAY BEFORE HE DIED did not diagnose this or check for this.
As part of Team Aorta you will get:
- Access to bespoke training plans and coaching advice from our very own qualified run coach and aortic dissection survivor – suitable for your level of running experience
- A TADCT running vest or technical t-shirt
- As many high fives as you can handle when you pass our cheer spot on the route
- Plus, lots of love and support on social media in the run-up to the big day
If you have a question about the event or joining Team Aorta, contact us via the chat option on the right-hand corner of the page.
