Join Our Team

We are united by a shared goal to improve the lives of the thousands of people living with or at risk of aortic dissection.

Our work is driven by the passion and expertise of our dedicated team, and we are always eager to welcome new people who share our values and commitment to making real change.

We are looking for empathetic, skilled, and passionate individuals who can help us build on our impact and drive meaningful change. We value diverse perspectives and professional expertise and strive to create an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to achieve their full potential.

Many of our trustees, ambassadors, and volunteers bring lived experience of aortic dissection, either personally or through a close family member. Our unique insight strengthens our connection to our mission and improves the work we do.

Become a Trustee

Are you passionate about improving diagnosis, treatment, and care for those affected by aortic dissection in the UK and Ireland? The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust (TADCT) is seeking a new Trustee to join our committed and enthusiastic Board as we embark on the next phase of our charity’s growth and development.

This is a key opportunity to help shape the future of TADCT, as we work to create lasting improvements in aortic dissection diagnosis and care. We are looking for an inspiring, dynamic, and ambitious individual who is ready to make a significant impact.

We welcome applicants from a range of professional backgrounds, but we are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Financial Management and Oversight
  • Fundraising and Income Generation
  • Strategy and Governance
  • The NHS, Genomics, and Policy

As a Trustee, you will:

  • Contribute to shaping the charity’s strategy and overseeing its operations
  • Attend four Board meetings per year, with at least one in person
  • Participate in fortnightly informal online meetings
  • Work closely with a passionate and proactive Board that is actively involved in the charity’s day-to-day activities

The successful candidate will be joining a very strong and committed Board that is actively engaged in the charity’s operations, not just providing oversight.

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants at all stages of their careers who are eager to expand their experience and actively contribute to the growth of TADCT. The successful candidate will be engaged, enthusiastic, and creative, with a passion for supporting the charity’s mission to scale up its impact.

This is a voluntary role with a three-year term of office, which may be renewed subject to eligibility.

How to Apply

To apply, please upload your CV and a short covering statement (maximum 300 words) outlining your interest and relevant experience by 28th February 2025.

For an informal conversation about the role, please contact us via email to arrange a discussion with the Chair.

Join us in making a real difference in the lives of those affected by aortic dissection. We look forward to hearing from you!
