38th EACTS Annual Meeting

Explore how collaborative efforts between healthcare professionals and patients improve aortic dissection care at the 38th EACTS Annual Meeting.

We are excited to announce that The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust (TADCT) will be presenting at the 38th EACTS Annual Meeting during the session titled Multidisciplinary Teams Working to Keep Patients at the Centre of Care.

In this session, we will delve deeply into the transformative power of collaboration between healthcare professionals and those who have directly experienced aortic dissection. By bringing together the expertise of medical practitioners with the invaluable insights of patients and their families, we aim to highlight how this synergy can bridge the gap between clinical practice and patient needs. Our presentation will focus on the critical role that these partnerships play in fostering a more comprehensive understanding of the complexities involved in managing aortic dissection.

We will discuss how these collaborative efforts can lead to the development of more personalised and effective care strategies, tailored to the unique circumstances of each patient. By integrating the lived experiences of patients into the decision-making process, healthcare teams can identify potential risks and challenges earlier, ensuring that interventions are more timely and appropriate. This approach enhances the quality of care and empowers patients by making them active participants in their treatment journey.

Moreover, we will explore case studies and real-world examples where such collaborations have already made a significant impact, demonstrating how this model of care can be applied more broadly across healthcare systems. Ultimately, our goal is to show how uniting the medical community with those who have lived through aortic dissection can lead to safer outcomes, reduce the likelihood of complications, and improve the overall patient experience.

During the conference, we will also be showcasing a powerful segment featuring the charity and a patient who has lived through the experience of aortic dissection. This segment, broadcasted live from the TV Studio will provide a poignant illustration of the real-world impact that aortic dissection has on individuals and their families. The patient’s story, coupled with insights from TADCT, will underline the importance of patient-centred care and the vital role that charitable organisations play in supporting those affected by this life-threatening condition. Through this platform, we aim to amplify the voices of patients and reinforce the message that their experiences are central to shaping the future of aortic dissection care.
