We are honoured to announce the participation of the Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust in the prestigious Conservative Party Conference 2023, where we will contribute to a fringe event titled “A Vision for Health: Delivering for People with Long-Term Health Conditions”. Events like these are a centre for influencing policies and thinking that enhances the wellbeing of individuals living with long-term health conditions such as aortic dissection.
Panellists
Catherine Fowler, as the voice for aortic dissection patients and families, and a significant contributor to NHS England’s cardiac clinical policy unit, will represent us on a distinguished panel. The panel brings together influential figures including Lord James Bethell, former health minister; Juliet Bouverie, Chief Executive Officer of the Stroke Association; and Paul Bristow MP, a member of the Health & Social Care Committee. The collective expertise of the panellists promises a comprehensive and insightful discussion on the future of healthcare.
Advocating for Aortic Dissection Patients
Catherine Fowler will discuss the progressive work of the Trust in fostering an enhanced vision for the care of aortic dissection patients. The panel discussion will include topics such as the development and implementation of personalised treatment plans, the importance of consistent follow-up and care, and the integration of mobile and advanced monitoring systems for healthcare professionals.
Public Awareness and Policy Advocacy
A focal point of the panel discussion will be the importance of increasing public awareness and advocating for substantive policy changes. The charity has made a step change in amplifying the voices of patients and families affected by aortic dissection, we aim to drive meaningful change in healthcare policies and practices to better support those living with cardiovascular conditions.
